Installation & Care
As this pipe is supplied without a geotextile sock, it should be installed within a suitable geotextile fabric wrap when used in a drainage aggregate system. The fabric helps prevent surrounding soil and fine particles from entering the drainage aggregate and pipe.
For a typical retaining wall drainage installation, line the excavation with geotextile fabric in a U shape, position the pipe at the base, backfill with suitable drainage aggregate and fold the fabric over the top of the aggregate.
Ensure the pipe is graded towards an appropriate discharge point so collected water can flow away from the installation. Avoid placing unsocked pipe directly against surrounding soil without suitable filtration, as sediment can enter the slots and contribute to blockages.
